The rhythm of merengue gains in popularity for been represented by a unique and dynamic group, La Banda Chula, which is distinguished to the other merengue’s bands by its rhythm and energy.

La Banda Chula was found by the Dominican youth Nelson (De La Olla) Mendoza. He has placed the music in the priority plan of his life. He studied music since early age, being specialized in piano and harmony.

Nelson De La Olla had been in many merengue bands as a back up singer and chorographer. In 1992 he stared as composer, giving him the opportunity to work with big merengue’s bands as “La Toro Band”, “Coco Band”, and “Pablo Martínez y La Muralla”.

When Nelson De La Olla founded La Banda Chula, he works as composer, arranger and lead singer.
